Lords Tavern

For many the perfect way to end the day is with a drink with friends and family in the relaxing surroundings of a local bar, On ORIANA this function is supplied by the sports bar Lords Tavern located on Deck 7.
As the name suggests the theme is one of cricket with the room being adorned by cricket memorabilia with its centrepiece being a full sized wall mural depicting a view of Lords Cricket Ground, London.

The Cricket theme can be seen in all aspects of the rooms decoration with the carpets even being patterned to look like cut freshly grass and the rail that surrounds the bar having a cricket balls at its ends.
Other cricket memorabilia around the room include signed cricket bats, wickets and a trophy cabinet.

On its starboard side there is access to the open promenade deck with seating and tables this area is also one of few spaces onboard which permits smoking.
During the day Lords Tavern offers a lively place to relax and have a drink with a juke box connected to the widescreen plasma television sets mounted on the walls with images and music from some of the most famous musicians filling the room.

Being a sports bar it’s a natural choice for viewing a major sporting event which is exactly what use it takes on when satellite reception allows it .
During the early evening it offers a informal lively pub like atmosphere to enjoy a pre dinner drink.
Like any good bar Lords Tavern has large selection of drinks on offer from beers and lagers to wine and spirit.
The bar in Lords Tavern is also the only one on ORIANA which has beer available on tap instead by bottle and as a result is a little cheaper than some of the other bars onboard.

After dinner on various nights Lords Tavern becomes a vibrant venue for a number of different entertainment options on offer these include, Karaoke, live bands in the dedicated performing area on the starboard side, quizzes and game shows which have a prizes for the winning team.

With its authentic décor and its variety of entertainment on offer Lords Tavern was, and by many still is considered the finest example of a typical British bar to be found onboard any ship.
The Lords Tavern proved to be such a popular venue that during the 2006 refit the adjoining Jackpots which accommodated the slot machines was removed and Lords Tavern extended into the new space, initially this new area was used as the smoking section of the room until 2009 when smoking was banned from all inside areas of the ship as a response to a change of UK government policy regarding smoking.

shop.
It is a must for passengers who wish to pick the perfect mementos to show family and friends when they return home.

While onboard ORIANA there is plenty of opportunities to have your photograph taken a perfect example is at dinner where on most evenings there will be option of having a portrait shot taken at the table, the different types of photos available during the cruise include, solo portrait, groups, couples, full table and soft focus.

During events and formal evenings aboard the photographers are to be found at various locations around the ship giving the option to have formal portraits taken, the most popular location being in front of the atrium staircase and waterfall on deck 5.
After the photos have been developed in ORIANA’s onboard photo lab they are brought up to the photo gallery to be displayed the next evening.
If the passengers wish there is also a possibility of having photos edited to adjust or retouch skin tone or reduce redness and remove lines.
As well as the basic photo services on offer The Photo Gallery also offer larger format prints on request and sell a range of photographic equipment including cameras and also give tutorials on photographic techniques for beginners as well as more advanced techniques.
For special occasions such as a anniversaries or weddings the photography team are always available to make sure the event is captured to make for life long memories.
On a cruise lasting seven days or more a member of the photography team holding a video camera becomes a common sight as they compile a DVD of the cruise which include excerpts of events and parties being held onboard as well as sail away deck parties and shot tours of each of the ports of calls.
For those who order the DVD it is usually ready for collection on the final evening before arrival in Southampton.
The Photo Gallery opens 9am until 4pm and 9:30pm until 11pm on sea days and 4pm until 11pm on port days.
