ORIANA seen arriving in Funchal with full white livery and blue funnel. 28 January 2015 |
ORIANA's 20th anniversary year is being so far a turning point in her career, as it is the first time she is having her livery changed, ever since she entered service in April 1995.
Her near sister AURORA was the first in the fleet, after the future flagship BRITANNIA, to receive the new P&O colours, when she was dry docked in Hamburg on her most recent refit. The livery consists of a blue funnel with the sun logo placed on each side, a UK flag painted in the bow and a large "P&O Cruises" mark at the stern on each side also.

ORIANA and OCEANA were next and since they are not planned to re-enter dry dock in the near future, December 2016 and 2017 respectivaly, the changes are currently being made as they keep on doing their cruises normally. Both should be displaying the full livery by the end of the present month.
Thus for ORIANA it is the end of a chapter, as she leaves on her wake the traditional livery that for so long distinguished P&O, and the beggining of a new one, with a new fancy look aimed to atract younger passengers.
