In March 2015 a month shy of ORIANA's 20th 'Birthday' she will be joined in the P&O fleet by the next generation and largest P&O ship.
To be built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard the 141,000 ton ship will be of the new ROYAL PRINCESS type ship, set to début in 2013 and will mark a departure from the recent P&O trend of new builds being Crown Class ships.
Sadly the ship will also mark the continued departure for the from the style that began with ORIANA and continued with AURORA.
ORIANA will however serve as an inspiration in style of the new ship even if its exterior lacks those of ORIANA's incomparable fine lines.
Talking about the new ship managing director Carol Marlow “This next-generation ship will deliver the ultimate P&O Cruises experience, She will offer ‘the best of the best,’ combining the favourite classic features of Oriana and Aurora."

"As with her cherished namesake and her sister the sacred CANBERRA, old acquaintance will be more than enough to ensure that whenever the great ships of Britain are brought to mind, another ORIANA shall now never be forgot."
