When ORIANA entered service on the 9th April 1995 it was as very symbolic moment when she passed QUEEN ELIZABETH 2 berthed in the Queen Elizabeth II Terminal as ORIANA took over the veteran Cunarder's role as flagship of the British Merchant fleet.
While it couldn't be foreseen then that less than 10 years later both would become 'extended' fleet mates in the Carnival group it seems that in the same way that P&O's and ORIANA's passengers are loyal to them many of Cunard's passengers are less then complimentary towards ORIANA and her brand name as can be seen in these links to the otherwise excellent tribute site to QE2 http://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,1385.0.html and http://www.theqe2story.com/forum/index.php/topic,3249.0.html
"As with her cherished namesake and her sister the sacred CANBERRA, old acquaintance will be more than enough to ensure that whenever the great ships of Britain are brought to mind, another ORIANA shall now never be forgot."
