ORIANA in Funchal on May 2009

On the 29th May of 2009, in a very pleasent late spring morning, Funchal welcomed once more ORIANA, in the end of a Canary Islands cruise.Arriving from Tenerife, she was fully berthed by 8 am, on what was going to be a splendid warm day, a prelude for another typical hot summer in the "Garden Island" as she is known for it.
After an eight and a half hour call in Funchal, looking nice as always and at this occasion, dressed overall, ORIANA left at about half 3 pm inbound her homeport of Southampton.
Also the spanish operated ship ATLANTIC STAR former FAIRSKY and SKY PRINCESS, visited Funchal that day on her last call of the atlantic operation she was undertaking that Summer based in Lisbon. Being a GTS ship, the high gas consuming coasts were the main reason of her withdrawn, followed by a period laid up in Marseilles. Nice to know she's scheduled to return for cruise service in 2012 as the german marketed MONA LISA II.Another shot of ORIANA and ATLANTIC STAR in Funchal as seen from the lense of Sérgio Ferreira.
