Further details of ORIANA's interior refurbishment

As ORIANA's refit continues we take a look at some of the recently announced alterations taking place within her decks
ORIANA & QUEEN MARY 2 dry docked at Blohm + Voss Repair.
Recently announced in P&O's latest loyalty club magazine The Portunus Club Magazine are further details of the work being done to ORIANA's interiors.
In a change to what was announced in March the Alfresco pizzeria will now be retained instead of being replaced and will feature a new style allowing passengers to enjoy a Mediterranean meal or snack while overlooking the Rivera Pool.
Meanwhile the Sorrento Italian style restaurant originally due to take Alfresco's place will now occupy a dedicated a section of the Conservatory buffet restaurant also located on the lido deck as well as having seating on the terraced decks for those who enjoy dining out on the open decks.
Elsewhere on board the former children's outdoor play area and pool will be replaced by a new bar named The Sunset Bar.
In addition several areas of the ship will be given a general makeover with the Pacific lounge being given a new style and theme and the reception located in the atrium is being given a "lighter and brighter feel"

In addition ORIANAof1995.blogspot has also learned that along with a general overhaul of the Oasis spa there will be two thermal loungers and a dedicated aerobics floor added.
Commenting about the additions P&O Cruises Managing Director Carol Marlow said-
"The refit is taking a little longer than we had planned but we are keen to make sure we do a great job on a ship which is such a favourite with our passengers, and has been since she was named by her Majesty the Queen in 1995."
