This poster below is the manner in which many future passengers were introduced to ORIANA during her maiden season and for me on a personal level holds some interesting memories of seeing the poster regularly as a child.
In its design it is very simple but at the same time effective the choice of words "The New Superliner for Britain" emphasises the ship's importance to the market as a ship custom built for the British market rather than like her then current fleet mates CANBERRA & VICTORIA both built for liner service.
"As with her cherished namesake and her sister the sacred CANBERRA, old acquaintance will be more than enough to ensure that whenever the great ships of Britain are brought to mind, another ORIANA shall now never be forgot."
